Look, I'm not gonna feed you some polished corporate story. Started wrenching on cars in my dad's garage when I was like 14, got hooked on BMWs after my uncle let me tinker with his E30, and basically never looked back.
Spent years at dealerships watching them nickel-and-dime folks for stuff their cars didn't really need. Got tired of that game real quick. The whole "replace everything just in case" approach never sat right with me - your wallet deserves better, and so does your car.
So back in 2017, I grabbed a lease on this unit in Burnaby with two buddies from tech school. We scraped together enough for proper diagnostic gear (the real stuff, not those cheap code readers), built relationships with legit parts suppliers, and just... started fixing cars the way we'd want ours fixed.
What I love about European vehicles isn't just the engineering - though yeah, when you pop the hood on a proper German motor, it's pretty sweet. It's that these cars are actually built to be serviced properly if you know what you're doing. They reward attention to detail, which is exactly how we roll here.
We're not trying to be the cheapest shop in town, 'cause honestly cheap work usually means cutting corners. But we'll always shoot straight with you about what your car actually needs versus what can wait. No upselling, no BS diagnostics, just honest work from guys who genuinely care about keeping your ride running right.
"Your car talks if you know how to listen. We've spent years learning that language."
Three techs, one dream, and a whole lot of ramen. Signed the lease on Unit 12 with barely enough equipment to service one bay. First customer was Marcus's neighbor with a misfiring 335i - word of mouth started from there.
Added our second lift and invested big in a proper Bosch diagnostic system. Started getting referrals from other shops who couldn't crack certain European ECU issues. Learned the hard way that growth means better scheduling software too.
When COVID hit, we adapted fast - contactless drop-off, video walkarounds showing exactly what we found, digital invoicing. Turned out folks really appreciated the transparency. Also finally got that transmission rebuild setup we'd been eyeing.
Decided to really lean into European vehicles exclusively. Sent the team for manufacturer-specific training, upgraded all our tooling. Lost some general repair customers but gained a reputation as THE spot for German and Euro performance cars.
Expanded into the adjacent unit, now running four bays with room for custom performance work. Built a loyal customer base that trusts us with everything from oil changes to full engine rebuilds. Still the same guys, just with better coffee and AC that actually works.
Adding hybrid and EV diagnostic capabilities because European manufacturers are pushing that direction hard. Still focused on what got us here though - honest work, fair pricing, and actually giving a damn about your car.
We'll tell you what's actually wrong, what it'll cost, and whether you can safely wait on it. No scary stories to pad the bill.
We don't cheap out on diagnostic gear or tools. European cars need the right equipment - we've got it.
Same techs working on your car every time. We remember you, we remember your vehicle, we remember what we did last time.
Cars change fast. We're constantly training, reading service bulletins, and staying current with new tech and procedures.
